Founded in 1940, the Sichuan University of the Arts now ranks among the most important art schools in China. It is part of the metropolis of Chongqing, Sichuan Province, which is by land area the largest city in the world. During a three-week guest performance at the Sichuan University of the Arts, Kunsthalle Darmstadt offers an insight into what moves both established and young, upcoming Chinese artists. The group exhibition ‹Zoom-In Chongquing. Malerei und Video an der Hochschule der Künste Sichuan› shows selected works by the university’s students and teachers.
